Pizza Marinara
Wake up and smell the garlic being used in your sauce.
The three most important pivots of a good pizza:
Number 1: The Base
Ingredients
- 1 1/4 cups All-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp Instant yeast
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1/2 tsp Sugar
- 1/2 cup water
How to make the pizza dough?
- To make this recipe you first need to activate the yeast. Take a bowl with warm water and add the yeast and sugar so it can feed the yeast.
- Put the bowl aside and let it stand for about 5 minutes. You will see foam appear on top. (This is a good test to see if your dough is going to rise. So always perform this step first before adding it to the flour.)
- Mix the flour and salt.
- Add the yeast mixture to the flour and salt mix and roughly knead it till it comes together to create a ball.
- Put this ball in a lightly oiled bowl and cover with a clean cloth. (preferably muslin/cheese cloth)
- Set the dough aside inside an unheated oven or a warm dry place away from draft and allow the dough to rise for another 30 minutes.
- Once the dough is roughly twice the size, take it out and gently knead it again to ensure there are no lumps.
- Stretch the dough into an 8-9 inch circle. (try using your hands)
- Make sure it is flat in the centre and becomes thicker going outside. (Quick Tip: Keep adding flour while rolling it to make sure it's not sticky and stretch with your hands instead of a rolling pin.)
How to make the pizza?
- Preheat your oven for 30 minutes at 190°C
- Get yourself Bella Cucina's Marinara sauce. Stir well before use.
- Spread 2-3 spoonfuls (tablespoons) of the Marinara sauce onto the base on the flat part.
- Add toppings of your choice like sliced bell peppers, mushrooms or corn if required. (But don't add too many cause it may take the pizza longer to bake.)
- Get some Premium pizza mozzarella cheese from The Spotted Cow Fromagerie. (You can buy it on our website: www.bella-cucina.in)
- Cut the pizza cheese into slices and spread over your pizza as you like it.
- Put your pizza on a baking tray with a baking sheet under it and bake for 15-20 minutes at 200°C
- Pull your pizza out once the crust looks ccoked and the cheese is fully melted.
- Cut the pizza into triangles and eat.
- You can add some oregano or chilli flakes on top if you like. (Quick Tip: You can top it with some fresh basil, fried garlic and/or Bella Cucina's chilli oil)
